CIBER Focus Special Series: Business & Peace
Building Peace in Iraq with Andrew Haeuptle
November 8, 2016
On October 3, IU CIBER kicked off a month-long discussion on the role business can play in peace-making, peace-building, and peace-keeping. Held in partnership with the Kelley School of Business, IU Office of the Vice President for International Affairs, the Institute for Defense & Business, and the IU School of Global and International Studies, the day-long conference brought together representatives from business, government, academics, and NGOs to examine this topic in a free and public discussion. A recording of the day’s sessions and continuing conversations throughout the month can be found online at http://snipbfp.org/2ef8QpB.
As part of an ongoing conversation about the role business can and should play in the world’s peace processes, IU CIBER recorded a special series of interviews. The ability for business—entrepreneurs, SMEs, and multinationals alike—to act as a stabilizing force in the world has been changing and leading to exciting research and action. In Part One of the series, Andrew S. Haeuptle gives us his insights on how business and investment can help build stability and peace in Iraq.
