With an estimated 65 million refugees worldwide, many countries are reviewing their refugee and migration policies. Displaced persons spend an average of 17 years in asylum, causing many policymakers and international organizations, like the United Nations, to press for sustainable, long-term solutions rather than “camp” models that rely heavily on humanitarian aid.
